Resources and bromides from the front lines of modern PR

Fragmented thoughts. Morsels of half-baked advice. No connection of dots.

That’s what’s going on as we try to arrive at best practices for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)

Against this backdrop, we at Proper Propaganda thought, why not add to the confusion – and spice it up with a dash of curmudgeonly malaise – by dumping more shit on the pile?

The result is this fabulously detailed GEO-optimization guide (just click the link).

It takes a holistic look at how to optimize a range of activities to show up right in AI search. Of course, it being something from our Dickensian factory, there is a lot on PR’s intersection with GEO in there. However, we built the guide in consultation with a gang of other experts – from technical types, to Wikipedia wizards, and market researchers – so you will see tips on a range of areas that matter for how you show up in AI search.

Normally, we write for narrow audiences. And while we’ve done that here, we think the guide can serve both execs who need to understand what is coming next and those tasked with implementing and operationalizing vision.

A warning: I would not describe our blueprint as “snack-sized.” But that’s why the Creator had the foresight to give us coffee (and Ritalin, too).

ALSO, in case you care for a deeper dive into the intersection of PR and GEO, have a listen to me guesting on the Stories and Strategies PR podcast.

If you make it through all this and are still sane, drinks are on me.
